Responsible Play
Play should remain optional entertainment. It is not income, investment or a solution to debt.
Understand the risk
A stake can be lost. Previous results do not predict future outcomes, and no system removes chance. Guests remain responsible for decisions, spending and time.
Set limits first
- Choose a loss limit you can afford without affecting essential costs.
- Set a finishing time and take regular breaks.
- Never borrow to gamble or chase a loss.
- Do not play when distressed, intoxicated or under pressure.
Warning signs
Hiding spending, borrowing, neglecting work or relationships, repeatedly chasing losses and feeling unable to stop are reasons to pause and seek support.
House intervention
Staff may suggest a break, refuse service or end play where continued participation appears unsafe. A guest can request self-exclusion at any time.
Independent support
In Great Britain, GamCare provides free information and support through the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133. Visit gamcare.org.uk. In an emergency, contact emergency services.
Protecting other people
Do not pressure another guest to play, lend money for gambling or hide losses on their behalf. If you are worried about someone, speak privately to a manager or contact an independent support organisation.
Alcohol and decision-making
Alcohol can impair judgement. The team may slow or stop service and refuse further play where a guest appears unable to make informed decisions. A safe departure may be arranged.
No substitution for professional advice
House limits and staff observations are protective measures, not medical, financial or therapeutic advice. Independent specialist support should be used where gambling is causing harm.
